Popular Questions

If you’re considering FLSD training, you probably want one thing: clarity. What it is, what you’ll learn, and what happens next. Here are the most common questions we get from new students.

An FLSD (Fire & Life Safety Director) is a trained safety leader for certain NYC buildings. Many students pursue FLSD training because they want a role where they’re trusted, respected, and prepared to lead in high-responsibility moments. When you train the right way, you stop guessing, and start thinking like the person in charge.

ASNY FLSD Training provides a 31-hour live online training course delivered via Google Meet. It’s designed to prepare you educationally for the FDNY FLSD certification process, including the N-85 written and Z-89 practical exams (administered separately by FDNY).

No. This is a training program, not a guarantee of FDNY certification, exam success, employment, job placement, or wages. FDNY exams and final certification decisions are handled independently by the FDNY, and hiring decisions are made by third-party employers.

Enrollment is completed online through checkout. Tuition may be paid in full, or through a Stripe installment plan if it’s offered at the time you enroll. Your checkout acknowledgments and payment timestamp serve as your electronic record of consent.

Yes. After payment, you should receive an enrollment confirmation. If you don’t see it within a few minutes, check spam/junk, then contact us so we can verify your enrollment and resend details.

100% attendance is required. Attendance is verified using Google Meet system logs, instructor roll call, and timestamped participation checks. If you miss required time, you may be disqualified from completion and may not receive a School Certificate of Completion.

Students who meet the course requirements receive a School Certificate of Completion from ASNY. This is not an FDNY license. FDNY certification requires passing FDNY-administered exams and submitting an approved employment verification letter (FDNY determines final approval).

Tuition is non-refundable once training begins. A one-time transfer to a future cohort may be granted at ASNY’s sole discretion if written notice is received at least five (5) business days before the course start date. Missed classes are not refundable or creditable.

Students must maintain professional conduct during sessions. Disruptive behavior, misuse of the virtual platform, falsifying attendance, or refusing instructor directives may result in dismissal without refund.

We collect only what we need to operate training (name, contact info, enrollment details, and attendance records). Payments are processed securely by providers like Stripe (we don’t store full card details). Because sessions are hosted on Google Meet, join/leave times and participation logs may be stored for compliance and verification.
